Tragic Flying Attempt under the Influence of “magic Mushrooms”

چکیده
In this study a fatal case caused by the ingestion of magic mushrooms is reported. After a trip to the Netherlands a young girl had ingested a handful of psilocybe mushrooms with a soft drink. Soon later, she was trying to fly from the window and died in the street while falling from a room situated on the second floor of a house. The victim was not known by the law enforcement authorities to be a chronic drug addict. The autopsy revealed a traumatic cause of death whereas post-mortem toxicological analysis outlined consumption of psilocybin and cannabis. Psilocybin/psilocin content in the mushroom was determined by capillary electrophoresis. The general toxicological screening for drugs was negative except for psilocin and cannabinoids in blood and urine. Quantification of psilocin was done by EI-GC/MS operating in the SIM mode after derivatization with MSTFA and with bufotenin (a constitutional isomer) as internal standard. The concentrations were 0.06 mg/l for heart blood and 0.22 mg/l for femoral venous blood. Moreover, blood levels for cannabinoids were the following: 0.03 mg/l (THC), 0.008 mg/l (11-OH-THC) and 0.09 mg/l (THC-COOH). No psilocin could be detected in hair. This is the first case to our knowledge that psilocybin consumption was indirectly related to a fatal outcome.

متن کاملBalanced Degree-Magic Labelings of Complete Bipartite Graphs under Binary Operations
A graph is called supermagic if there is a labeling of edges where the edges are labeled with consecutive distinct positive integers such that the sum of the labels of all edges incident with any vertex is constant. A graph G is called degree-magic if there is a labeling of the edges by integers 1, 2, ..., |E(G)| such that the sum of the labels of the edges incident with any vertex v is equal t...

Background and Objectives: Freezing under statically electric fields is one of the novel freezing methods to improve the quality of frozen products by controlling the nucleation process. The objective of this study was to investigate effects of freezing under electrostatic fields on the freezing parameters and microstructures of frozen button mushrooms. Materials and Methods: Mushroom samples w...
متن کاملResidual Levels of Diazinon and Benomyl on Greenhouse Mushrooms
Background: Pesticides are one of the important sources of environmental pollution that influence human health. The aim of current study was to determine diazinon and benomyl residues levels in mushrooms grown in greenhouses. Methods: Mushroom samples were obtained from 10 active greenhouses of Hamadan Province, Iran, every 14 days from May 2014. The absorbance of diazinon and benomyl were me...
متن کامل$Z_k$-Magic Labeling of Some Families of Graphs
For any non-trivial abelian group A under addition a graph $G$ is said to be $A$-textit{magic} if there exists a labeling $f:E(G) rightarrow A-{0}$ such that, the vertex labeling $f^+$ defined as $f^+(v) = sum f(uv)$ taken over all edges $uv$ incident at $v$ is a constant. An $A$-textit{magic} graph $G$ is said to be $Z_k$-magic graph if the group $A$ is $Z_k$ the group of integers modulo $k...
